Are my images uploaded anywhere?

No. Background removal, resizing, compression, and previews all run locally in your browser using the canvas API. Your files are never transmitted to a server.

What kinds of backgrounds can be removed?

Solid and near-solid backgrounds: white studio backdrops, flat colors, and lightly uneven tones. Choose "connected to edges" for a safer result, or "every matching pixel" when the same color appears in separate areas. Photos with busy, detailed backgrounds need professional AI tools.

Can I replace the background with a solid color instead of transparency?

Yes. Choose solid white, solid black, or any custom color in the Replace with menu. Feathered edges blend smoothly into the new background, and the result downloads as a ready-to-use PNG.

Is the result a real transparent PNG?

Yes. The exported file contains a genuine alpha channel — the checkerboard you see is only a preview convention. Place the PNG on any background and the transparent areas will show through.

How do I avoid stretching when resizing?

Keep the aspect-ratio lock enabled when you change width or height, or use a crop ratio. Stretch mode exists only for the rare cases where exact distorted dimensions are intentional.

Can I hit an exact file-size limit?

For JPG and WebP, enter a target KB value and FitMyPic will test quality levels to land close to it. Exact bytes can't be guaranteed because image content affects compression, but the measured result is always shown before download.

Which format should I export?

PNG for transparency and sharp graphics, JPG for photos and smaller files, WebP for modern websites that accept it. The tool shows the measured size of whichever format you pick.

Is there a file-size or usage limit?

No accounts, credits, or daily caps. Very large camera photos may process slower depending on your device's memory, but there is no artificial limit.

Does it work on phones?

Yes. The layout adapts to small screens, and touch devices can choose files normally. Paste-from-clipboard works on desktop browsers.
